Neonates Department, the Neonatal Medical Center of Hangzhou Women’s Hospital, is mainly in charge of daily diagnosis, treatment and rescue in NICU while managing rooming-in neonates and emergency treatment of neonates in LDR, delivery room and operating room.
NICU is a laminar-flow ward, designed with 60 sickbeds. They are equipped with: advanced neonatal monitoring system and Philips multi-function ECG monitor; Drager medical suspension system in all the wards; incubators including GE Giraffe multi-function incubator and 30 radiation rescue tables; Germany STEPHAN respirator, non-invasive respirator with high frequency and normal frequency; Siemens movable DR machine, bedside color Doppler ultrasound and blood-gas analyzer; some advanced apparatus such as single-double-side blu-ray jaundice treatment box, therapeutic instrument, microscale infusion pump, transcutaneous bilirubin meter and microscale glucometer which offer life support and protection for child patient.
It has an extremely skilled medical care team that has rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment for premature infant, very low-birth weight infant and super low-birth weight infant and focuses on the treatment of premature infant and rescue of neonatal asphyxia. Its treatment and rescue of neonatal asphyxia, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, meconium aspiration syndrome, pulmonary air leak, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, intracranial hemorrhage, necrotizing enterocolitis, neonatal septicemia, hemolytic disease of the neonates and neonatal jaundice have reached an advanced level.
As a strong support of the Obstetrics Department, the Neonates Department makes neonatologists participate in the delivery and operation of every LDR high-risk puerperal woman, and applies professional resuscitation technique for neonatal asphyxia when necessary. When a fetus has precursors for dangerous problems or is born with asphyxia, NICU’s outstanding medical staff and leading-edge medical equipment may win the precious time for neonate rescue and lay a solid foundation for the cure of neonates’ disease. In the future, the department will further set up a special and follow-up clinic for neonates, and continue to track the cutting-edge technology of neonate (NICU) development, contributing to maternal and child health in Hangzhou and surrounding areas.
