Covering an area of 1,500 square meters, the center has 16 consulting rooms, including among others the Special Clinic for Pelvic Floor Diseases, Gynecological Urology Clinic, Postpartum Rehabilitation Clinic, TCM Clinic, Pelvic Floor Health Education Room, Pelvic Floor Functional Examination Room, Urodynamics Examination Room, Pelvic Floor Functional Rehabilitation Therapy Room and Pelvic-Abdominal Dynamics Treatment Room.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Diagnosis & Treatment Center (hereinafter referred to as “Pelvic Floor Center”, established in December 2014, has set up the Hangzhou Female Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Diagnosis & Treatment Center in January 2015. June 2015 saw the opening of China-France Technical Cooperation Center of the Pelvic Floor Center, which is a multidisciplinary medical team that brings together physicians from Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Urology Department, TCM Department and Rehabilitation Department and medical backbones from Digestive Department, Department of Anus and Intestine Surgery, Neurology Department and other departments of Hangzhou First People’s Hospital, and that invites domestic and foreign renowned experts as the center’s academic advisers. The center has a pelvic floor rehabilitation team, a reproductive plastic surgery team and a TCM team, totaling 18 professionals, among whom 2 hold the EIRPP Certificate (Level 2), 6 EIRPP Certificate (Level 1) and 10 National Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Certificate. Furthermore, it is equipped with many international leading-edge equipment and instruments such as PHENIX U2 Pelvic Floor Screener, U4 Therapeutic Apparatus, U8 Therapeutic Apparatus, 8PLUS Diagnosis and Therapeutic Apparatus, Urodynamic System and LPG Therapeutic Apparatus. With these instruments and devices, it is able to carry out or perform comprehensive diagnosis and treatment modes of pelvic floor diseases including pelvic floor function screening, urodynamic testing, pelvic floor electrophysiological rehabilitation therapy, all sorts of reconstructive pelvic surgeries and application of pessulum and multidisciplinary consultation, and to treat various types of symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction like uracratia, uroschesis; pelvic organ prolapse; sexual dysfunction; pelvic pain; postpartum physical rehabilitation (e.g., diastasis recti abdominis, obesity, etc.);thin endometrium; sub-involution of uterus; vulvar dystrophy; scar repair.
Over the past 3 years, the Pelvic Floor Center has processed 16,000 cases involving pelvic floor function assessment, over 350 cases involving urodynamic test, and over 6,000 cases involving pelvic floor rehabilitation. Over 50,000 patients have accepted treatment here. It demonstrates significant therapeutic effect on uracratia, chronic pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction, etc. For the past few years, the center is dedicated to the treatment of postpartum fitness including diastasis recti abdominis, thin endometrium in infertility, vulvar dystrophy, etc., which has been greatly affirmed by the public. More than 200 patients suffering from prolapsed pelvic organ have undergone proper surgeries here including among others the anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair, anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair plus partial trachelectomy plus cardinal ligament shortening (also known as Manchester procedure), vaginal hysterectomy plus anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair, vaginal mediastinoplasty, partial obliteration of vagina, total obliteration of vagina, sacrospinous ligament suspension and LONGO. For patients with stress incontinence, TVT-O, TOT, TVT and other surgeries have been performed. Among these surgeries, sacrospinous ligament suspension is a relatively advanced surgical procedure in the world. More than 50 cases have been completed in our hospital and all show a good postoperative recovery via follow-up visits at present. Our hospital has also performed more than 10 LONGO surgeries and more than 30 TVT/TOT surgeries.
Our hospital has set up an electronic medical record for pelvic floor outpatients, and relying on the community health service system for three-level pelvic floor diagnosis and treatment and health management, it has achieved pelvic floor life-long management.
It has successively held national, provincial and municipal continuing education projects 5 times, having nearly 600 people trained; opens backbone training courses on pelvic floor rehabilitation techniques (3 phases) at a regular basis, having nearly 250 people trained; completed the training activities for the promotion of pelvic floor prevention projects in 15 districts, counties (cities) in Hangzhou, having 500 medical personnel trained; carries out technical training on diagnosis and treatment of women and children pelvic floor diseases for health care workers and community doctors in Hangzhou all year round at a volunteer basis; has accepted 100 students, exerting great influence in the province and even in the country.
For popularization of health science, it accepted health interviews with TV station for many times; gave more than 100 lectures through the School for Pregnant Women, with nearly 6,000 people participating in it; held 4 “Pen You” salons, with about 400 participants; organized over 20 community lectures with about 800 participants. In 2017, it undertook the “Public-spirited Pelvic Floor Venture Program for Elder Females in Hangzhou”. More than 10 public benefit health activities have been carried out in Shangcheng District, Xihu District, Xiaoshan District, Lin'an District, Xiasha District, Binjiang District and Yuhang District.
