Vice Premier of China's State Council SUN Chunlan Investigates Hangzhou Women's Hospital and Spoke Highly of its Quality Service

SUN Chunlan, member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, went on field investigation in Zhejiang from May 20 to May 22. She highlighted that insisting on putting people's health as priority under the guidance of XI's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Area, strengthening the linkage of "medical care, medical insurance and medication", further reforming on public hospitals, specifying functional orientations of medical health institutes at all levels, so as to pick up constructing a leveled diagnosis & treatment system with a wider coverage in urban and rural areas and greater efficiency for completed and lifelong health service guarantee for people.

On the afternoon of May 20^th, Ms. SUN came to Hangzhou Women's Hospital (Hangzhou Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital) to visit public hospitals' party organization, reform and health informazation on the field investigation under the interpretation of TENG Jianrong, Party Secretary and Director of Health and Family Planning Commission of Hangzhou Municipality and our hospital President ZHANG Zhifen. First of all, President ZHANG reported to Vice Premier on development, tenet, functional orientation and features of the hospital. Ms. SUN scrutinized the board that exhibited featured work of medical care and health of Hangzhou for a long time at the hall of Outpatient Building.

Director TENG Jianrong combined the pictures and articles on the board and reported to Vice Premier SUN that Hangzhou Health Family Planning System insisted on the Communist Party's guidance to facilitate key work including integration of party organization and businesses, deepen reform of public hospitals, smart medical care and medical health services "once-at-most" reform, which greatly increase citizens' satisfaction and enhance industry image of the public health cause. Vice Premier SUN nodded for praise during their interpretation, and communicated with leaders of National Health Family Planning Commission, Provincial Commission and Provincial Administration from time to time. She recognized that Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou did a good job in carrying out governmental responsibilities in the reform of linkage of "medical care, medical insurance and medication": made plans in advance, issued forward-looking policies including early start in "integration of medical care, maintenance and nursing" and construction of nursing ageing services system and hospital beds for family, as well as more investment in public health to adapt to development of social economy and timely construction of hospitals for women, children and elderly people.

Then she dived into all functional districts of the hospital by observing and experiencing all the procedures of smart medical services of the hospital: self-support registration, clinic settlement, clinic appointment, automatic dispensing, self-support report query, etc. On their way, Ms. SUN had amicable conversations with medical staff, hospital volunteers and pregnant women. "It's very efficient!" "Very good, thank you!" "You are very cultivated. I should learn from you!" "How many children do you have?" The cordial questions and greetings shortened the distance between leadership of the country and us so that people were willing to open their mind to tell Ms. SUN their true thoughts and feelings. Ms. SUN showed that saw "patients and health oriented work" had been implemented in Hangzhou and hospital of Hangzhou by informationization and smart medical care after exchanging with us.

As the guiding center of health care management in Hangzhou, Hangzhou Women's Hospital gives full play of its importance in researching and developing electronic brochures of maternity and child health care during the whole process of propelling maternal and child health. The aforesaid brochure is also a key focus for Ms. SUN's visit this time. She nodded her approval that the health brochure was very good and it should be well-prepared for marketing when she listened up the introduction of the e-brochure's R&D background and main features and observed the practical operations by physicians and demonstration of the application on the phone by a pregnant woman at the hospital.

In the LDR ward, Ms. SUN showed great interest in water birth considering it an encouragement for women to give birth to children and a good service very important to harmonious relationship between doctors and patients. "People who come here are very pleasant. You really do a great job!"  

Ms. SUN showed her recognition to the hospital's work at the end of her visit: "Your hospital is well-equipped with good conditions, and well-organized in party work. Your work is all-round and it also goes in the first rank. We should learn from you and show our appreciation and greetings to doctors and nurses in your province!"

Ms. SUN's recognition and encouragement made us very exciting. With the tenant of "all for maternity and child health care, and maternal and child health is all", our hospital implements Ms. SUN's expectation and requirements cautiously, insisting on the guidance of XI's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and putting people's health as priority to instantly enhance medical service, materially improve service level and forge a quality hospital for maternity and child health to make great contributions to health cause in demo district of Hangzhou, China.
