Hangzhou Women's Hospital Opens on November 12

On November 12, the long- awaited Hangzhou Women's Hospital (Hangzhou Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital, Hangzhou First People’s Hospital, Hangzhou CBD Hospital, Hangzhou Qianjiang Hospital) officially opened. Hangzhou finally has a municipal specialty hospital for women invested by the government and constructed as per tertiary A Hospitals: women whoever want to see doctors for gynecology, perinatal health or labor can get quality services in this specialty hospital with advanced medical facilities and professional technologies.

Located in the sector of Qianjiang New City, the hospital constructed by joint investment of RMB 800 million Yuan from Construction Management Committee of Qianjiang New City, integrates medical care, health care, teaching and scientific research. It is under the group management of Hangzhou First People's Hospital. Since its official opening, the hospital opens 160 beds in the first phase, including Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonates Department, and will open 600 beds in three years.

The development objective of the hospital: striving to build up a tertiary A specialty hospital for women with the first-rate facilities, technologies, management and services to be in line with international modern medical care and preventative health care and a modern demo maternity and child health care center in the region to satisfy the basic medical health care and high-end medical health care for citizens in Hangzhou and surrounding countries.   

The hospital begins to appoint pregnant women who are planning to labor and receive their perinatal health care files (i.e. health card) since November 10; it begins to receive patients to see doctors since November 11; in the first two days following the opening on 12^th, the hospital will hold large free diagnosis activity.

As a new hospital the municipal women's hospital is, the hospital has gynecologists with rich clinic experience. At the Qianjiang region of Hangzhou First People’s Hospital, gynecologists cross-work in the two hospitals represent the highest level to save high-risk pregnant women. At the same time, Hangzhou Cancer Hospital of Hangzhou First People's Hospital will be transferred to Hangzhou Women's Hospital before its opening. For three or four years, medical and nursing staff recruited have all been trained in Hangzhou First People's Hospital. The In-Patient Building sets LDR wards on three floors, i.e.it means women in pregnancy, labor and postpartum recovery can stay in the same room, including B-ultrasound examination and fetal heart rate monitoring (can also be finished in the ward). The good landscape of LDR wards enables pregnant women to enjoy the view of Qianjiang River. The first phase opens a floor of 17 LDR wards. The hospital has advanced infant safety system: LDR wards are equipped with infant safety system, it will let out alarm once infants are taken away from the floor.

There are also first-rate water birth equipment of international-level  integrated delivery rooms and labor centers. Water birth makes uterus contraction more coordinated and efficient so that pregnant women get more relaxed during uterus contraction. In the meanwhile, the buoyancy of water can well reduce the laceration of birth canal and effectively relieve pains. Washing and nursing articles in the LDR wards are well-known international brands, coffee machines, drinks, fruits and other snacks are available in the public area. Individualized menus will be subject to specifics of pregnant women. The hospital will also conduct painless labor to lower rate of cesarean delivery.

The hospital is equipped with full auto biological and chemical immunity assembly line, full auto outpatients blood collection system, medical gas system of European standard, pneumatic logistics and cloud equipment management system and advanced equipment. Large Free Diagnosis Activity in Hospital on November 12, 13

The hospital held a grand free diagnosis activity for two days on November 12 and 13. The departments participating in the activity included Gynecology, Obstetrics, Reproduction, Perinatal Health, Maternal Nutrition, Gynecology of TCM and Galactophore Department. The specialists of free diagnosis activity at that day were those whose registration number are hard to get, such as ZHANG Zhifen, specialist of Gynecological Endocrine, ZHAN Liyong, specialist of Gynecological Oncology, LI Xiangjuan, specialist of Gynecological Pelvic Floor, WANG  Zhihua, Director of Obstetrics, TONG Jinyi, Director of Gynecology, FEI Xiaoyang, Director of Reproductive Center. There were also many specialists from other hospitals, such as Professor JIN Fan, Reproductive Medicine of Zhejiang Medical Women's Hospital, Professor WANG Zhengping, gynecology of Zhejiang Medical Women's Hospital, Professor QIAN Jianhua, the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University. In addition, Professor Kurt Lobodasch, German specialist of women's pelvic floor in Krankenhauses Hospital, had also been invited to the activity to serve for citizens of Hangzhou.

At the very day of free diagnosis activity, patients brought ID card, medical insurance, medical history and examination results of previous years., and will get diagnosis when get registered on the 2/F of Outpatients of the hospital without any registration fee.
